Our sermon series this month was called WAYPOINTS. We define a WAYPOINT as a destination point in a journey. Its at these waypoints that we respond to experiences in a way that move us forward on our journey. In our sermon series, we discussed the waypoints of Calling, Blessing, Discovery, and Lids.
Calling: God calls us all to salvation (relationship with him), clarity, and mission. This calling draws us deeper in our connection with him, clarifies God's leadership in our lives, and establishes the way for us to make him known to those around us.
Blessing: Good things happen to all of us do we waste it or invest it. We invest God's goodness by sharing in his happiness (the things that he would invest in). This investment goes four ways: personal, behind, around, and ahead. We should take time to invest in our development, in those who can't help themselves, in the environments (work, etc) around us, and in those who aren't here yet.
Discovery: At every experience is the opportunity to discover God, Life, and Purpose. We simply must create the space to do that. We create space by asking questions, spending time with God in prayer and study, resting (Sabbath), and connecting with others in the journey of faith.
Lids: The Law of the Lid (http://www.johnmaxwell.com/blog/the-law-of-the-lid) is not just a leadership principle, it is a spiritual problem. The only way to breakthrough our lid is by the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Keith Drury once said that the Spiritual Journey is about responding rightly when moments happen. How you respond to the waypoints listed above matters. If you would like to discuss this, email us by clicking the button below.
